Avernus Cathedral Deleted Areas

The Avernus Cathedral level of Defiance is much shorter than some of the others in the game. It was initially designed as a much larger playable area, but was significantly trimmed due to time and budget reasons.

Delejes from Hungary discovered that the Defiance bonus material included a few pieces of concept art which depict deleted areas of Avernus. Several designs for the interior are based on the area's appearance in Blood Omen, and an image of the outside resembles the cathedral in The Soul Reaver 2 Proof of Concept created for Soul Reaver 2.
