Alternate Prologue and Epilogue

Preview videos for Blood Omen 2 depict the introductory FMV with some notable differences compared to the retail version. The Sarafan Lord is depicted without the Nexus Stone, and Kain walks away from The Pillars wearing his Blood Omen 2-era armour, not the Iron Armour from the first game.

It is currently unknown if these aspects of the video depict a change of design for the game, or if the Iron Armour version of Kain and the Nexus Stone model were simply not ready to be shown at the time.

The version of the preview included with the PS2 version of Soul Reaver 2 is different than the others, and has Kain speaking dialogue including the "tell them Kain is coming" line which was cut from The Device level (see Slaves to The Device). This was probably never intended to be included in the real game, much like the Soul Reaver 2 preview which has Kain speaking his dialogue from the Chronoplast while at The Pillars.

The data files for Blood Omen 2 also include a more melancholy version of Kain's closing dialogue, in which he expresses regret for killing Umah, rather than discussing his plans for an empire.
