Original Repel Dungeon
In the early build of Blood Omen from 12 July, 1996, there are three protective spells: Force Shield, Magic Absorb, and Repel. The first two are obtained in the same dungeon, which is accessible from Coorhagen. When all three spells were merged into a single spell (also called "Repel"), the Original Repel Dungeon was deleted entirely, and the former Force Shield/Magic Absorb dungeon was converted into one where the revised Repel spell would be obtained.
In the 12 July build of the game, the original Repel dungeon's entrance is near Dark Eden. That is, the player would not obtain the Repel spell until after completing Malek's bastion.
The video walkthrough available below illustrates the entire deleted dungeon, as well as the earlier version of the spell. It reflects magic and missile attacks back at the attacker, but provides no protection from melee damage. The video also includes an earlier version of the Heart of Darkness description, in which Kain remarks that it can be used unlimited times, but consumes magical energy. This appears to reference an even earlier version of the game, as the Heart of Darkness is a consumable item (not a spell) in all known builds of the game.
