Early Vampires

At least three discarded vampire designs can be seen in prerelease imagery and demo versions of Soul Reaver.

One of the designs - the pear-shaped pale vampire with a round mouth full of spikey teeth - was described as an early version of the Dumahim vampires by Chris Bruno of Crystal Dynamics. The mouth in the final version of the Dumahim is based on the early design, although essentially everything else about it was changed.

The hunch-backed vampires with human faces are probably test models (the face may well belong to one of the Soul Reaver team members) which were never intended to appear in the real game.

The Lighthouse Demo contains the most vicious-looking of the early vampire designs. Although it did not survive into the production version of Soul Reaver, it was the basis for the vampire which is pictured in promotional art being skewered by Raziel.
