Raziel Statue
This limited edition statue of Raziel was released in the same time period as the first Soul Reaver game. It is currently unknown exactly how many were produced, but its production method implies a small production run.
This statue is cast in resin, which is a method most commonly used by "garage" model kit and prop replica makers. Resin casting has the benefit of being usable by hobbyists and small shops, but is much less scalable than mass-production techniques such as injection-molding of plastic. The casting process usually results in many tiny air bubbles and other imperfections in the cast pieces, meaning that they must be sanded down by hand. In addition, the soft molds used for the resin have a short lifespan, so many molds must be created over the course of a larger production run.
Most cast-resin products are sold unsanded and unpainted to hobbyists who will complete the work themselves, but this statue was distributed in a nearly complete form, except for the wings being unattached. The wings in the photos below may actually be attached incorrectly, but are not glued in place yet and may be corrected at a later date.
The Raziel statue is approximately 12 inches tall, and is of notable heft with the exception of the spear which is quite fragile. The base appears to be modelled after the stone block in Melchiah's clan territory which can be moved aside with the Soul Reaver, as that is the only block (at least in the retail version of the game) which features a carving of the Soul Reaver sword.
This statue was a gift from the superlative-laden-but-deserving-nonetheless former series director Amy Hennig.
