The Pinnacle of The Silenced Cathedral

After defeating Kain and using the Reaver to consume his soul, the final leg of Raziel's journey would have taken him to the highest levels of The Silenced Cathedral to open its sounding pipes (see The Final Battle with Kain, The Amplified Reaver, and Opening the Sounding Pipes).

The Silenced Cathedral is an enormous level in Soul Reaver as it was released, but the Pinnacle section would have made it even larger. This final area of the game may have been inaccessible from the rest of the Cathedral. Raziel would have flown to it from the summit where The Mountain Retreat was built.

Prototype versions of Soul Reaver from January and February 1999 include a tunnel behind Zephon's body which leads to an unfinished, deleted area which may have been part of the Cathedral's pinnacle.
