The Sarafan General entered the Sarafan Lord’s private chambers, and the door sealed shut behind him. As he strode to the black Meditation Pod in the middle of the room, there was a hum of glyph magic, and the top half lifted into the air, revealing the seated Sarafan Lord.

“What is it General?” he asked firmly through his fiery mask.

“My lord, the fleet has moved out of intercept speed. Comscan has detected the stolen Sarafan Destroyer, the thieves have taken up Battle Stations, and will provide significant resistance.”

“Kain is alerted to our presence.” the Sarafan Lord declared calmly. “The Admiral came out of intercept speed too close to the ship.”

“He.. he felt surprise was wiser….” the General stuttered.

“He is as clumsy as he is stupid!” the Lord declared. “General, prepare your troops for a ship-to-ship attack.”

The Sarafan General saluted “Yes, my Lord.” and made his exit. The Sarafan Lord spun around in his chair and telekinetically triggered the Glyph monitor to the bridge. On the display before him were the Sarafan Admiral and Captain, taken by surprise. This time, the Admiral would not be outpaced by the Captain.

“Sarafan Lord, the fleet has moved out of intercept speed and are preparing… ugh… ack…” he started choking.

“You have failed me for the last time, Admiral!” the Sarafan Lord shouted. Before him, the Admiral clasped his throat to try and stop the invisible squeezing force killing him. As the nearby Sarafan Captain watched, the Admiral died with a snap, as his spine was split in two. The limp, pathetic, hollow body collapsed.

“Captain, make ready to land our troops past their defences, and deploy the fleet so that nothing gets off that ship. You are in command now, Admiral.”

“Thank you Sarafan Lord.” the newly-promoted officer saluted, and gestured to some nearby troops to drag away his predecessor.
